Welcome To My Shiba Inu Site!!!

This site is dedicated to my four-legged-furry children!!!  I am a volunteer with MSIR (Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue) as well as the new Event Coordinator along with my mom.  I have three Shibas of my own and I also foster.

I get asked all the time, "How can you foster?  Don't you want to keep them all?"  My answers are "easily" and "yes."  While I love each one of them I cannot keep them all.  First of all, my home is not the "Perfect Forever-Home" for every Shiba, second, I don't have the room to keep them all (though it seems I like to try) ^_^

That is the reason I decided to foster.  I can take care of a Shiba in need then help them find their "Perfect Forever-Home."

Please before you decide to adopt any dog, RESEARCH the breed!!!  Here are some good sites, and a book on Amazon.com, that I found to be very helpful in my research of the Shiba Inu, as well as the official MSIR and National Shiba Rescue sites where there are more adoptable Shibas!!!

Today is a very sad day.  We were suppose to be picking up our newest foster Bella tonight however we just got some devastating news.  She was at a temporary foster home when on Wednesday morning she began vomiting.  The vet suspected that she ingested a poisonous mushroom and unfortunately she passed away this morning.  Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting her she was still to be my foster so look for her on the memorial page soon.

In loving memory of sweet little Bella.

When we arrived in St. Louis yeasterday the girl that pulled him from the shelter decided that she couldn't let him go!  This was my fastest placement yet!  So Auron is now posted on the Alumni page.

I have some sad news to share.  Shippou, a 1.5 year old that we temp fostered had to be humanely euthanized the other day.  This was due to an increasing behavioral problem that made it a danger to adopt him out to the public.  See him on the Memorial page.  I will have a full bio up soon.

On a lighter note, we will be travelling to St. Louis tomorrow to pick up a new foster, Auron!  Look for him to be posted in a few days!
